RFID Sniffing – Is it a crime or even a concern?

If security is not in place, RFID tags can be “sniffed” by any RFID interrogator to include your competitor or a foreign Government. It is probably too soon to get paranoid, but if you are using RFID tags, especially active RFID, you should have security safeguards. Now they have a High-Speed Pursuit Management System to track criminals attempting to flee police by car. With the High-Speed Pursuit Management System the police shoot a GPS dart at the criminal’s car. Then the police can track the criminal at their leisure by GPS satellite.
