Thanks for your comments on Why RFID is Harder to Implement Than Bar Codes. You are right. I was too focused on paper-based bar codes labels when comparing the physical aspects of bar codes versus RFID tags. I'll update the posting

While I do agree with the majority of this article, I must point out that bar code tags also come in many “flavors” and in many cases are more durable than their RFID counterpart. Take extreme heat and chemical exposure – metal bar code nameplates are designed to withstand both of these elements while RFID tags are not.
