Wal-mart has taken a leadership role with having its supplier use RFID tags to track inventory through the Wal-mart supply chain. The press lately has hit the Wal-mart RFID project hard because deployment dates have slipped. There is ROI evidence that the RFID tag project is decreasing stock-outs and increasing sales in RFID-enabled stores.
