Goodbye U.S. dollar, hello global currency

It is hard to believe that there could ever be just one world currency, but then again 60 years ago we did not have credit or debit cards. There are several good arguments for a world currency if global trade continues to expand. A world currency would take a lot of uncertainty out of global buying and selling by not having to factor in currency exchanges or the stability of National or regional currencies like the dollar or euro.

For some reason I’m not ready for a global currency as that would mean that one organization would control the money supply. Would this not be like “putting all your eggs in one basket”? I could not imagine an organization like the UN managing the world’s money supply.
