This does seem like something the Government should get involved with. Here you have people (spammers) breaking into private property (our computer) and then using our property for their own uses (spam other computers). Most of us, consumers or businesses, do not have a resident security expert to keep up with these threats.
Dig.com posts – The FBI has found networks of zombie computers being used to spread spam, steal IDs and attack websites. The agency said the zombies or bots were “a growing threat to national security”.
