Government Accountability Office (GAO) is looking hard at DoD RFID initiatives. Putting a RFID tag on everything that is shipped may not be the answer for logistics tracking. If you have a high-value or big item such as a military vehicle coming off the assembly line, it may be better to tag it with a GPS device. Need to look at costs and function.
