CompUSA has a strange process for their “in-store pick-up” option when ordering online. When you order online at CompUSA and select the “in-store pick-up” option, you are making a reservation versus actually ordering the item. Even though you enter your credit card online, you do not actually get charged for the item until you go to the store to pick it up. The problem is that when you made the “reservation” for the item online the price of the item can be lower (weekly ad, online special, etc.) than when they actually charge you for the item when you pick it up at the store. Not good.
DIgg.com posts, “Kevin purchased two DVD and CDR spindles using CompUSA’s “In-Store Pick-Up” option; when he got to the store, the price doubled. Kevin had already handed over his credit card information and had a printed receipt. Why did the price double?”
