Ultra Mobile PCs: Smaller than laptops but bigger than PDAs

I’m a believer in the ultra-lite notebooks. To date, Sony and Averatec have been the leaders in ultra-lite notebooks. Now they have some competition.

I have had an Averatec since March 2006. It has a 10 inch screen and 512 of memory. I use it as a laptop, a music player, a pda, and a VoIP phone. I really believe the ultra-lite notebooks may be more popular than a cell phone or PDA as they come down in price. I can’t believe most people really want to use their thumbs to pound out messages and view video, pictures, and web pages through a little cell phone or PDA screen. With an ultra-lite notebook that is smaller than a hardcover book, you can have it all.
