Survey: People only call an average of four people on their cell phones

This is an excellent article and poll on the types of interactions that are occur with different communications media to include SMS, IM and Skype being used for intimate conversations, cell phone conversations for last minute updates, e-mail being used of formal conversations and planning, and regular landline phone being used for community type conversations for the whole family.
