The PlayStation 3 release on November 17th now has it’s place in history. Various groups of gamers were mugged through out the day as they stood in line. Senator Edwards put down Wal-Mart on the one hand and tried to cut in the Wal-mart PS3 line on the other hand. Other PS3 lines turned to violence as stores could not fulfill customer demand.
I guess the good news is that 400,000 people got their PlayStation 3 on Thursday. Looks like it would be better for Sony or retailers to do the whole PS3 release online. You can get a PS3 online at eBay, but the units are being sold at outrageous prices. I have read that at one BestBuy on Thursday that there were 39 people standing in line for a PS3 and about 30 of them planned to sell their Play station 3 on eBay once they bought it from BestBuy. What a racket.
