Introduction to Socially Driven Political News

Digg posting: “The political categories of socially driven news sites are unlike any others. Submitters are treated differently than they are in other categories. Stories and commenters are also treated differently. Users are banding together to get stories promoted which push agendas.”

Blogs a couple of years ago changed the political landscape where more grassroots organizations could get a voice in the Nation’s political discussion. Now social bookmarking is starting to have a major effect on political discussion on the internet. Social bookmarking is the internet way of signing a petition for a cause. If you bookmark a political blog posting using a social network site like Digg.com or Del.icio.us, it does amount to you signing a petition. Some of the challenges (or maybe benefits) of political social networks is with social news networks sites like Digg.com you can “Bury” the story or write “flame” comments.
