Consumer Reports: The Cost of Spam

Digg posting: “More than half of the two trillion e-mail messages sent in 2006 are likely to be spammed. There are an estimated 2,300 spammers in the US.”

It is amazing how there are only a few thousand spammers, and how they just send out millions if not billions of spam each day. Also, the spammers keep their spam from getting blocked by spam blockers by changing their tactics. Lately, I have received a new type of spam that sends images with the spam ad embedded in the image. Topics include weight loss, Viagra, and stock picks.
