Why Do Retailers Know More About You Than You Do?
To prevent fraud, several cell phone companies are asking very detail questions of their new customers. Some questions are un-nerving. For example, they ask how old is your father? How old is your sister? I know how old my sister is, but not my father. What is un-nerving is that the cell phone company DOES know how old my father is. It is amazing how much retailers know about you. Just think of the junk mail you get in the U.S. mail. My kids are getting credit card offers, literature on colleges, and even great offers from the U.S. Army. I nor my kids have asked for this junk mail. They are sending my kids this junk mail because they know something about my family. The worst thing is that I’m sure the U.S. Army recruiters found out all about my daughter through legitimate sources.
