Our Digital Reputations
With the help of the internet our name and reputation is becoming important again in how people deal with us. In Biblical times your name and genealogy was everything. Today it is your digital reputation, the sum total of your electronic transactions, that determines what you can buy and sell, your ability to get credit, get a job, etc. In fact you can have multiple reputations depending on the sources of your digital reputation. You can have one reputation on eBay, another one on Google, and still others at the three major credit reporting agencies.
All of these reputations can be a good thing and a bad thing. The one certainty is almost everyone of us has several digital reputations and they are not going anywhere soon as long as the internet stays with us. NOTE: the internet was built by Department of Defense originally as a communications medium with the sole purpose of surviving a nuclear war. Like I said your digital reputations are here to stay.
