Off-Line Retailers Looking To Compete With “Smart Shopping Carts”

Brick-and-Mortar stores are starting to use internet and eCommerce technology to enhance shopper experience. The other week I talked about how one electronics store is experimenting with their customers wearing headsets that can access online customer service representatives. Now it looks like traditional stores have more tricks up their sleeves to stay competitive with online stores.

Soon we will start seeing “smart shopping carts” in grocery stores. These new shopping carts will be outfitted with a computer with a locator system, scanner, and search capability.
