More Banks To Protect Against Phishing Scams

Phishing scams may soon be a thing of the past as more banks put in place measures to protect their customers. I was starting to think banks were becoming a thing of the past with electronic cash and prepaid debit cards, but I may be wrong.

Bank of America is rolling out a free service to their customers called Passmark. This free security service for their customers verifies the bank’s web site as authentic and also asks challenge questions in addition to your password. This is expected to provide serious protection against phishing scams who use key logger programs or for online thieves that just have your logon and password information. See posting: Finextra: Bank of America to introduce PassMark authentication technology. Also, I see ING DIRECT has a similar security measure for customer savings accounts.
