India’s Temples Comparing Food Prices Online To Save Millions From Profiteers

Many of India’s temples provide free meals to the poor. Local food distributors have taken advantage of many temples in the past by marking up prices 50% or more. This can add up to millions for some temples who have food budgets of over $70 million dollars per year. This profiteering has motivated many temples to start comparing prices online to get the best prices. This is the internet at it’s best helping to keep prices down by creating competition where there was none.
