There are now several desktop search tools to choose from to search for files on your computer. Desktop search bars offer great convenience for finding anything on your desktop, but they do offer privacy concerns.
If you take proper precautions with securing your computer, you should not be that concerned about privacy. The question is do all of us secure our computers either online or physically 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I would say no. That means that an employer, acquaintance, stranger, hacker, family member, or anyone can find files or previously viewed web pages instantly on your computer, if you leave your computer unsecured.
