If you want to go cheap broadband, DSL is the answer but both cable and DSL have distinct advantages. The only drawback I have to DSL is that a lot of carriers require their customers to bundle DSL with their local phone (copper wire) service. This is restrictive for me because there are new, cheap broadband phone services that are now available for anyone that has high-speed internet service. I have cable internet and I’m slowly migrating my phone lines (business, home, daughter, etc.) from my local phone carrier to VoIP broadband phone service. Then at that point I can say goodbye to my local copper wire phone carrier.
